the ramblings of a displaced Philly girl

hi all! I know I never post. There's no good reason for it really. I just stopped making time for it. So, consider this the official end of my blog. But, before I go, since I haven't filled most of you in on life in the past year through words, I decided to do it in pictures instead. So, here's my official blog-ending photo montage :) Start at the bottom and work your way up. Enjoy!

Well, to finish up-- most of you know my biggest event of the past year was getting engaged! So, here's one last pic to finish my random photo tour out. I can't believe how quickly October is coming!!! until then, farewell from the PMoose blog! :)

I started this year off with another show-- this time in Chicago. Kate was even cool enough to brave the INSANELY cold weather and meet us for pizza! I think I'll wait 'til the summer to visit Chicago again...

This year has started out to be pretty fun. Except I kind of went crazy this month and decided to do the Virginia Beach Polar Plunge! We entered the costume contest at cavemen (go figure!) :) Fun, but I don't think I'll ever do it again...

yeah yeah, the Eagles didn't make the Superbowl, but what a trip! I am posting this just because it makes me happy-- it is my boss and a fellow supe (both HUGE Dallas fans) who lost a bet when our teams played each other on Christmas :)

Also in the fall, we took a random but fun weekend to Luray, VA to the caverns with Matt & Steph. SO cool and a really fun weekend!

one of my favorite things every year is the wine festival in Norfolk every October. Last year's was definitely eventful, (next year's will be too! we're getting married a block away!) but it gave me one of my absolute fave pics-- me, Andrea and Steph (2 of my bridesmaids!)

as I said, I am sort of becoming a hockey fan... but it's kind of hard not to when my fiance has Pens season tickets!! this is one of my fave pics from a game we went to where they were playing the Flyers

I also got to go to two bike shows in 2006-- an uneventful one in Montana (I thought the above pic was pretty fitting in describing the trip) with 10,000 of my favorite HOG friends, and the Moto GP Race at Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA a month later with 200,000 of my favorite sport bike fans. CA was SO nuts but SO cool! Plus, I got to have an In-N-Out Burger :p I included a track pic from our booth...

one of the coolest things I got to do in 2006 was go to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, which the Hurricanes won! never thought I'd be a huge hockey fan but I'm being converted...

2 links for you this week since it's been so long...

The first is my new favorite bad day site: cuteoverload.com. Seriously, I don't know how anyone could look at this site and not at least let out an "awww" and a little smile :) check out the baby bulldog pic on the main page!!!

Ok next-- I just think the new Yahoo! Answers site is fun to browse. People can type in any question they want, and then other people answer it for them. Does anyone remember the Cam Jansen kids books? I didn't until I browsed today. :) My other favorite recent questions: "Is my gf fat or not?" (yes, accompanied by a picture), "How do I tell a boy I like him?" and the best yet: "Is Whoopi Goldberg of the same species as homo sapiens?" Probably some kid trying to get his homework done... :) Anyway-- it's great boredom fun.

Hope everyone had a good week! Back to the daily grind tomorrow...

back (and in a sappy mood!)

I know it's been awhile... It's been a crazy couple of weeks. But, life right now is a blast :) I was driving home today, though, and I decided to revive some of my CD's and break up my XM Radio addiction. And, well, the first CD I played had one of my all-time favorite songs on it. And, I'm sure I've posted about it before, but it's totally worth sharing again!

I came across this song in college senior year thanks to Allison, and I loved it then, but it wasn't until Wendy & Nick (one of the world's most perfect couples) played it as their first dance at their wedding that I realized how much I really love the words. I guess it's just that when I finally find someone that feels this way about me, that's when I know that things are right and will last. Because really, this song is beyond sex and beyond dating and beyond everything else but the root of everything that's good and pure about love. So anyway, here it is-- Ben Fold's The Luckiest-- if you have never heard it, PLEASE download it :)

I don't get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns
The stumbles and falls brought me here
And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face
Now I see it everyday
And I know
That I am, I am
I am the luckiest

What if I'd been born
Fifty years before you
In a house on the street where you lived
Maybe I'd be outside
As you passed on your bike,
Would I know?

And in a wide sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
and I know
That I am, I am
I am the luckiest

I love you more than I have
Ever found a way to say to you

Next door there's an old man
Who lived into his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
And his wife, she stayed
For a couple of days and passed away
I'm sorry I know that's a
Strange way to tell you
That I know we belong
That I know
That I am, I am
I am the luckiest

hey, it's better than drugs...

Well, if you're wondering about the title, let me explain... see, everything I watch these days is on Tivo. I don't watch anything live. It drives me crazy to watch commericals when I don't have to! So, even if I'm here during the show, I'll do something else for a little bit until I can start the show and just run through all the commercials. Sad, I know, but it's an addiction.

But, my addiction is slowly taking over other areas of my life. One of my favorite things about Tivo is that no matter what I'm watching, I can pause and rewind it any time I want. Yes, I am in control. Unfortunately, though, I am only in control of my TV. When I missed info on the radio yesterday, I for a split second thought to rewind it. But, XM sadly is not Tivo. And, when both George and I missed something on TV this weekend at the Inn, I immediately wanted to rewind it and get the full story. But, again, no Tivo.

But, the worst had to have been later Saturday night, when I handled a conversation horribly. For a minute, yes, it crossed my mind that there were no problems-- I would just Tivo it and try the convo again. And of course, there is no such thing as Tivo for life.

But, I think there should be. Because I've decided-- life is way too complicated to not get do overs.

Anyway, overall I had a fabulous and relaxing weekend in the Outer Banks. sooo nice to get away. But, unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. so, back to work tomorrow...
